Clinical Nurse Coordinator

  • Fixed term / secondment opportunity for approximately 10 months
  • 1.0 FTE leadership opportunity
  • Dynamic and exciting role, established to facilitate expert patient care by delivering hands on education and support for our new cohort of Healthcare Assistants (HCA).

    The outcome of your effort will be evident in the provision an exemplary bulk recruitment and education programme, ensuring our HCA staff are provided with a solid foundation at the start of their DHB career and beyond.

    About the opportunity

    This role will be a pivotal figure in the coordination, facilitation, and implementation of bulk HCA recruitment to enable safer staffing levels in our hospitals.

    In addition, the development of orientation and education plans for the HCA workforce will be a key component of the role.

    With the overarching goal to improve patient outcomes through the careful matching of staff to patients, there is certainly ample opportunity to make a difference for staff and patients alike.

    Key accountabilities of this role include, but are not limited to :

  • Development and facilitation of an Assessment Centre for recruiting HCA’s
  • To practice both autonomously and in collaboration with the multi-disciplinary team to support staff education needs;
  • To set objectives and goals with individual staff members to ensure an adult learning environment is developed with clear outcomes achieved;
  • To support staff learning, particularly those that are new to specialty.

  • This is a demanding and challenging role, where the successful candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, expertise in conflict resolution, and the ability to own’ your decisions.

    Previous experience in recruitment of staff is essential, while prior experience in Assessment Centres will be highly advantageous.
