About usEducation Infrastructure Service (EIS), a part of the Ministry of Education, creates and supports safe, healthy, inspiring and ICT enabled learning environments.
EIS manages the Crown's second largest property portfolio of around 2,100 schools with a book value of $18.3 billion, is responsible for the largest payroll in the country, and transports over 100,000 students to and from school each day.
About the roleReporting to the National Manager - Acquisitions & Designations you will provide high quality technical and analytical leadership / support to help manage the state school property portfolio which comprises around 2,400 schools.
Your key accountabilities will include : The provision of expert Resource Management Act advice and support for all property management and planning activities across Infrastructure Delivery, including in particular, land acquisition and designations work.
Participation in the development of joint policy directions connected with resource management from other government agencies, including taking leadership responsibilities where required.
Development and implementation of any associated business documentation that is required as a result of RMA monitoring and advisory activities.
Please note there is further information available in the attached Job Description.About youYou will have a tertiary qualification in planning / resource management and significant applicable experience in the New Zealand market place and will qualify for full membership of the New Zealand Planning Institute.
You will also offer : Understanding of other estate legislation and local government and central government requirements, methodologies and their applicationKnowledge and experience in project managementProven ability to communicate with technical and non-technical people in writing and orallyExperience in strategic and operational planning and performance reporting is desirable.
