    Reporting to the Safety, Standards and Compliance Manager , you will be responsible for coordinating various health and safety activities of Queenstown, Wanaka and Glenorchy Airports.

    You will assist with the development and implementation of safety training, auditing of contractors and Authority to Work Permits, and leading Health and Safety discussions and meetings.

    In addition, you will also complete safety investigations and review contractor safety management plans. You will also work with both internal and external stakeholders to develop, update and implement plans and systems for QAC’s emergency response situations.

    You will also :

  • Ensure QAC is meeting the requirements of the Health & Safety at Work Act 2015 and any associated legislation
  • Ensure health and safety training is adequate and remains up to date
  • Monitor and report any safety issues or non compliances
  • Ensure QAC’s emergency plans and systems remain up to date and effective
  • To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience in a similar Health and Safety role, be confident in the application of relevant legislation and understand the importance of culture.

    Additionally, you will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to problem solve, make sound decisions and maintain confidentiality and security of information and data.

    Your interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organisation will be crucial. A continuous improvement mindset will be integral to your success in the role and your ability to influence and build a positive culture will be advantageous.
