What we do

Based at Christchurch Hospital, our Otolaryngology Department receives acute and arranged referrals. We cater for age groups from neonates to elderly and have specialty clinics that include Otology, Head & Neck Oncology, Sleep disorders, Paediatric airway and Voice clinics that are all supported by a range of health professionals including the ORL Head & Neck Nurse Specialist.

The Role : Where you fit in

In this role, you will be responsible for :

  • Providing administrative and general medical secretarial duties for the Otolaryngology department.
  • Assisting our waiting list coordinator with surgical wait listing and booking
  • Medical transcription typing
  • Your skills will include :

  • Experienced administrator with superb organisation, time management and problem solving skills
  • Excellent customer service and telephone manner
  • Experience in transcription and dictaphone typing.
  • Well developed computer skills including knowledge of MS Office.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet required deadlines
  • Excellent relationship building skills with patients and colleagues, coupled with the ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy
  • Personable, patient focused approach to your work
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and experience using a Patient Management System would be an advantage, however full training will be provided by our supportive administrative team.
