The role is responsible for the delivery and efficient operation of Community Care activities within the Region. The position currently has responsibility for the following portfolios across the Community Care programme : Friends of the Emergency Department / Hospital FriendsCommunity Carers.
Therapy PetsYou will be effectively managing the delivery of service operations including : Community Care activities run within prescribed guidelines across the regionNetwork and liaise with community agencies to build and maintain sources of future referral and support and maintain volunteer numbersAttend and facilitate regional meetings in the assigned Community Care portfolioRespond and promote media opportunities to publicise servicesWork with volunteer District Managers / Team Leaders to achieve volunteer growth, leadership and management across the regionBuild and maintain proactive, constructive relationships with internal and external stakeholdersBuild and develop networks and initiate regular meetings with key external stakeholders (such as Emergency Department staff and GPs)Appropriately acknowledging special occasions for volunteers and clients.
So succeed in this role you will have : -Experience in service leadership and effective management of a geographically spread group or business unitAbility to engage and motivate paid and volunteer membersExperience developing work plans and delivering within an integrated business environmentEffective written and verbal communication skillsStrong financial skills - ability to understand, develop and interpret budgetsExcellent time management and organisational skillsConsistent modelling and promotion of our core valuesThe ability to travel within the Region is required, as is availability via phone outside of standard working hours to assist with urgent matters.
