  • Reporting to the Hardware Systems Manager, this role is responsible for design and testing of new products, and for providing ongoing technical support for existing products.

    This includes working with and supporting the Software, Research and Operations teams as well as working with third parties, to achieve positive outcomes.


    Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :

  • Design and develop hardware products, including sourcing equipment, creating test rigs, managing field trials, collecting and analysing data, and troubleshooting any issues.
  • This will require you to work closely with other teams, in particular Software Development, and external parties to achieve a positive outcome

  • Manage projects of work that you are tasked with, ensuring there is a timeline and specifications for delivery, and that the project is then delivered in time and within scope
  • Create and deliver technical documentation that is easy to follow and is accurate. This includes, but is not limited to manufacturing, installation and troubleshooting instructions, Bill of Materials, and testing plans
  • Support the Operations team and customers by providing training on products, providing support, and diagnosis and resolution of issues
  • Review and modify current products and undertake any design improvements, including testing and finding alternatives suppliers if applicable
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, busy environment and adaptable to change

    To be successful in this role, you will have :

  • Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Mechanical Design, Electronics, Mechatronics or a relevant engineering-related field
  • Proven experience in mechanical and or mechatronics engineering role, including practical electronics hardware skills
  • Proven experience working with a CAD solution
  • A comprehensive understanding of electronics and hardware engineering
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven capability in managing both internal and external relationships
  • Strong planning and organisation skills, allowing you to manage projects within the Hardware Systems team
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot, including analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such Python, PowerShell for task automation is an advantage
