  • Community based paediatric Senior Occupational Therapist
  • Two Permanent, full-time positions (40 hours per week)
  • Monday Friday, Greenlane Clinical Centre
  • Starship Community provides interdisciplinary care and cultural support to children, young people and their whānau living within the Auckland DHB area.

  • A part of the Starship Child Health directorate, our nursing; allied health and technical staff are responsible for delivering health care services to children;
  • young people, and whānau in their home; school and community settings. Our service is made up of three locality based community teams, a central service and a hearing and ear health department.

    We are committed to delivering whānau-centered care that focuses on the health and wellbeing of children and their whānau.

    Getting to know our communities, working closely with them, removing inequities and barriers to health care for priority populations, are key drivers for us each day.

    We are seeking an experienced, motivated and energetic Senior Occupational Therapist to join our Starship Community Service.

    As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care and support the Occupational Therapy team and lead practice and improvement innovations.

    You will hold a clinical caseload providing assessment and intervention for children and young people with developmental and disability needs as part of our child development service.

    Children are seen for treatment in their homes, early education centres and other community settings.

  • To be shortlisted you will;
  • Be a registered Occupational Therapist in New Zealand with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
  • Hold a full and clean NZ driver’s license
  • Be an experienced practitioner with 4+ years of practice experience with at least two years in a paediatric setting.
  • It is strongly preferred that you hold Equipment Modification Services (EMS) Accreditations in Wheeled Mobility and Postural Management Level 1 and / or Housing Modifications (Complex).
  • Ideally, you will;
  • Have experience working with Māori and Pasifika communities and have an overriding passion for paediatrics and serving our communities.
  • Have proven leadership skills that will support the occupational therapy team and wider inter-disciplinary team. You will also have proven skill in leading clinical education and quality improvement projects.
