He angitūtanga : About the Role
As Ranger, Marine Reserves you will be responsible for the implementation of the Marine Reserves Compliance Plan and the Marine Reserve Monitoring Plan in the Ngā Motu / New Plymouth District.
You will have defined leadership responsibilities, including the ability to plan and authorise technical work programmes in our marine reserves.
You may also be required to work across the Region to support other marine reserves.
Successful implementation of your work programme will depend upon your ability to establish and sustain strong relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
You will work in true partnership with local iwi / hapū / whānau to ensure our treaty partners are engaged with and informed about marine reserve health.
You will be an advocate for marine reserves.

This appointment requires an individual with excellent interpersonal skills and a natural ability to form enduring relationships.
You will be comfortable working in partnership with a broad range of internal staff, including the Compliance and Marine Ecosystem Teams, and external stakeholders.

Please note : This position requires a full driver's licence, the ability to work outside of normal hours (including weekends) and to travel as required.
You will also be required to pass a security check to achieve DOC Warranted Officer status.
