Are you passionate about influencing sustainable development within Porirua City through applying the provisions of the Resource Management Act?

This senior role in our Resource Consents and Monitoring team has scope to accommodate, develop and reward your level of competence.

You will be doing things such as :

monitoring compliance with resource consent conditions, including carrying out routine and random inspections

building relationships with local sub-contractors and builders and taking a proactive approach to improve silt and sediment controls

scope and design education programs to proactively engage with our development / building community

respond to land use complaints and take appropriate action where necessary

gathering evidence to enable enforcement action to be undertaken under the Resource Management Act

This role is more than a processing and enforcement role, we are looking for people that have a positive approach to engaging with stakeholders.

You'll need to show us that you :

have a well-founded knowledge of the Resource Management Act and relevant legislation and by-laws

several years' experience working in roles involving monitoring and enforcement activities

enjoy the challenge of managing and resolving customer complaints while bringing a customer focus to the heart of everything you do

have a passion for creating sustainable solutions and building positive working relationships

have a full unrestricted New Zealand driver's licence
