RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operational and administrative support of security infrastructure devices. Which include (but not limited to) Firewalls, Load Balancers, DNS, Web Proxies and application security.
  • Work as part of a project team from time to time
  • Solution design review
  • Work as part of a squad for development work for continuous improvement around our technology and services
  • When required, help with product development of our managed security services
  • Lifecycle, capacity and vulnerability management of the security infrastructure
  • Risk management
  • Mentoring & documentation
  • Change, problem and incident management of the internal security infrastructure for Spark and its customers
  • Proactive in continuous improvements
  • Ability to manage workload & operational responsibilities is essential.
  • Ability to work well in a team, excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Available to work within the operational hours of 8am-6pm, Monday-Friday and as requested after hours.
  • Provide, on a regular basis, after-hours (including public and other holidays) on-call internal security infrastructure and customer managed devices.
  • SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years experience in a networking and security role within an MSSP
  • 2+ years experience with Fortigate, Check Point and Cisco Firewalls
  • 5+ years IT&T industry experience in Operations or design / development processes and environments.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge and hands-on experience of F5 Load balancers including implementation and troubleshooting of all or some of these technologies : F5 (LTM, DNS, APM & ASM).
  • Netscaler experience advantageous.

  • 2+ years experience in IPS / IDS
  • Experience and hands-on experience with popular webproxy solutions like ForcePoint, CWS / WSA, and McAfee web proxy products will be a plus.
  • 2+ years Cisco based routing and switching
  • 2+ years operational experience of F5 LTM
  • 2+ years Unix operational experience
  • 1+ years experience with microsegmentation technologies is an advantage.
  • Must be comfortable with network protocol analysers & monitoring tools including Wireshark (tcpdumps), Nagios cacti etc.
  • Advantageous to have support experience in technologies like, email, DNS & NTP
  • CERTIFICATION

    At least 2 of the below or equivalent
