The Senior Advisor Commercial Procurement is responsible for :

  • Being a key contributor to implementing and championing the procurement strategy
  • Providing high quality procurement advice that is pragmatic and complies with policies and good practice
  • Developing sourcing strategies and managing procurement initiatives from initiation and planning through to sourcing and selection through to negotiation and implementation
  • Working across a broad range of works, goods and services
  • Supporting contract and supplier relationship management
  • Advising and supporting issue and dispute resolution.
  • This is a great opportunity to make a real difference for the Council, and to Wellington City as a result.

You'll be able to clearly and logically articulate your thinking in writing or in person. You'll thrive in a team that's driven to achieve great outcomes for Wellington and understands what is possible when procurement is used as an enabler, instead of acting as a handbrake.

You will be able to critically assess from a quantitative and qualitative perspective, enjoy working through complex initiatives and be comfortable navigating out of ambiguity.
