MidCentral District Health Board (DHB) is seeking to appoint a Health Service Planner within the Strategy Planning and Performance team.
This position will work with the senior leadership team and act as a key enabler for the cluster leadership teams, designing and facilitating planning initiatives across MDHB to ensure better healthcare outcomes for our communities.

We service a population of around 180,000 people across our district with key sites at Palmerston North Hospital and Horowhenua Health Centre.
The Health Service Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating planning activities. The role will support planning across MDHB, with an emphasis on service and operational planning.
The role will contribute to a programme of change, service development, innovation and quality improvement, supporting the organisational objectives to move care closer to home, empower people to take control of their health journeys and move decision making closer to the clinical teams that provide care.
The role will design and facilitate planning initiatives to support the clusters to develop their long term goals, identify the best way to achieve these goals ensuring better health care outcomes for our communities, and ensuring robust implementation and evaluation measures are put in place.
You will apply your strong strategic and planning skills, use data and analytics to gain insight and will give expert advice to support effective decision making.
You will be a champion for equity, and support the cluster and the organisation to actively improve and achieve health gains for our least advantaged populations.

MidCentral District Health Board employs more than 2500 staff at Manawatu, Palmerston North, Tararua and Horowhenua and Otaki districts.
Palmerston North Hospital is a 350 bed secondary hospital, which services an urban population of 80,000 and a total population catchment of 168,000.
In addition, the hospital is a teaching hospital, and is associated with both Auckland and Otago medical schools.
