About the team

  • In our People Division, Grid Skills & Operational Training is responsible for the day to day operations of Transpower's Private Training Establishment;
  • https : / / www.transpower.co.nz / gridskills

    Our Design & Development Team provides training solution advise and designs and develops learning resources using various tools and learning channels, including simulator environments.

    Their goal is to build the capability of the fantastic people working with key systems, tools & assets used to maintain, manage & operate Aotearoa's power & market systems.

    This includes Transpower employees, workers who maintain Transpower's Grid Assets, and Transpower's Customers.

    The Opportunity

    In this newly created role, you'll enjoy interesting work and be responsible for continual improvement of the learning design evaluation framework and devising effective methods of collecting meaningful evidence to support our goal to design evidence based and data-driven programmes.

    You'll also monitor the quality of assessment through an annual moderation programme, providing insights on potential improvements.

    This flexible role can be worked in either Palmerston or Wellington, and hours can be organised to suit your personal commitments / preferences.

    You'll be part of meaningful work as we look to attract and build the capability of a diverse workforce in an exciting sector.

    Your CV and cover letter will demonstrate

  • Previous experience with development and review of national qualifications via standard setting bodies and NZQA processes
  • Experience working in an evaluation and / or moderation role
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to communicate clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work under pressure, set priorities and manage tight timelines across multiple initiatives
