What You Will Do

As the IP and Commercialisation Manager, you will direct UC's Research & Innovation team that identifies and shapes UC innovations, and subsequently oversee development projects, to prepare them for transfer into industry and the wider community.

In collaboration with the Director (Research & Innovation) and UC's legal providers, you will lead the negotiation of commercial agreements involving the licensing or sale of University IP.

This position also provides strategic and entrepreneurial contribution to the development of bids requiring economic benefits and / or implementation pathways.

Mōu Who You Are

We are looking for someone who is experienced (7+ years) in the commercialisation of technology, products or services - including experience in technology or product development, IP management, protection systems, and project management.

You will be a great people leader with a strong relationship building ability and excellent writing / communication skills.

Ideally, you will also have degree in science or engineering, ideally with a master's degree in business administration (or equivalent experience).

Mahi Ngātahi Who You Will Work With

The Research & Innovation team within the Deputy Vice-Chancellor's Office supports and provides over-arching vision and leadership within UC's award-winning and prestigious research arena.

As a team we work collaboratively and are skilled in creative thinking to build national and international linkages for fundamental and applied research.
