As part of the new Ops structure, we are looking for an experienced Digital Apps Site Reliability Engineer who will be responsible for the availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning for all existing and future IT digital services.

Attending analysis / design meetings and workshop to provide input / sign-off on technical solutions for projects (e.g. DXL re-platform).

For some technical changes, this may involve carrying out the full analysis. Operational acceptance and sizing for DX delivered solutions for ongoing support of the platform / solution.

What will I be doing?

  • Designing and implementing proactive continuous improvement programmes for our solutions to minimise the occurrence of support issues.
  • Run the production environment by monitoring availability and taking a holistic view of system health
  • Working alongside core development teams to design cloud deployment architectures on Azure and AWS.
  • Ensuring aspects of security, scalability, supportability and performance are implemented in solution architectures.
  • Assisting development teams to build continuous integration and deployment pipelines using toolsets selected for the particular technology stack.
  • Ensuring that necessary monitoring and alerting are in place and continuously improving it.
  • Documenting system architecture and configuration / deployment processes and proactively sharing technical knowledge with support developers across multiple teams.
  • Actively participating in the diagnosis and remedy of reactive support issues during business hours and on a shared on-call basis after hours.
  • Providing technical assistance to support ticket triaging and troubleshooting.
  • What Will I Bring?

  • Previous experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or DevOps Engineer.
  • Knowledge and experience about the major cloud providers, AWS, Azure, and Google; be familiar with containerization, Docker, and Kubernetes; and understand Linux.
  • Strong experience in Azure deployment architectures and VSTS deployment pipelines.
  • System admin of Linux and Windows-based cloud-based server environments.
  • Experience in one or more of the following : Python, PowerShell, Perl, shell and Java scripting.
  • Some networking knowledge to help with troubleshooting and configuration of virtual networks.
  • Familiarity with Dynatrace, Spunk or similar monitoring framework, including building dashboards and alerting integration.
  • Good understanding of DevOps concepts and best practices
  • Preferred to have ITIL Framework Certifications.
