  • Build a career with a well-known, future-focused government organisation based in central Wellington. Our client is looking for a Manager of Analyst Capability to help lead their ICT function within an organisation that runs large scale ICT projects.

    The role :

    As the Manager of Analyst Capability, you will be leading a large team of Business and Process Analysts and will be responsible for the day-to-day management, strategy, and leadership of the practice of Analyst capability.

    Reporting to the Head of Solution Delivery, you’ll be building and enhancing the overall capability of the team including resourcing, professional services, capability development, practices & tools and Ways of Working.

    You’ll be part of the team to help lead and operationalise complex, multiyear, programmes of work.

    About you :

    You’re a collaborative leader and have the ability to build capability within the team. You’re able to establish clear accountabilities, expectations and performance standards with direct reports and Coach and develop staff to meet the needs of now and in the future.

    A passion and drive for modern Digital ways of working and having the ability to work in parallel with traditional IT ways of working and modern delivery techniques will put you at the front of the pack.

    To be successful in this role you will have :

  • 10 years’ relevant experience leading large scale, flexible teams who deliver business-critical projects and programmes of ICT work, using a wide range of delivery methodologies and experienced in Digital delivery.
  • Previous experience working within and managing across different project delivery disciplines including classical waterfall projects and the use of Agile delivery tools, as well as direct experience managing a range of project types including technical, systems / software implementation and upgrade and digital projects
  • Demonstrated experience working with a blended digital and on prem ICT portfolio, and a deep understanding of how these worlds meet
  • Ability to quickly establish and build strong working relationships and develop trust and credibility with senior managers, staff, vendors and other stakeholders
  • Strong people leadership and management skills, including sourcing of appropriately skilled resources within a large ICT environment
  • Previous experience working in senior management with colleagues across multiple disciplines and business functions
  • Ideally NZ private sector and commercial experience with a working knowledge of the NZ public sector environment
