We have a fantastic opportunity for a motivated Senior Structural Engineer to join our vibrant and enthusiastic Engineering team based in Auckland .

As part of the NZ Infrastructure team, this role covers a broad range of skills relating to structural engineering.

About the role

The focus of the Senior Structural Engineer is to undertake design and consulting services within the Infrastructure group and related areas to enhance the team’s portfolio of skills and expertise. This will include :

  • Undertaking and leading the design and reviewing structures including bridges, underground structures and other civil structures for both small and major infrastructure projects locally and internationally;
  • Developing the NZ team’s structures engineering capability by mentoring junior engineers and demonstrating technical excellence and project leadership;
  • Leading and assisting with bids and proposals and support the development of the Arup brand and business with key clients including NZTA, KiwiRail, Watercare, Local Councils and Contractors; and
  • Preparing project reports for clients summarising structural engineering issues and strategically advising on best outcomes.
  • About you

    You will ideally have :

  • Recognised relevant tertiary qualifications in Engineering or similar area with a minimum of 8 years’ of experience in a relevant industry in Engineering within a consulting business environment;
  • Strong technical expertise in the design of bridges and civil structures on major infrastructure projects and understanding of local marketplace, design standards and design practices including seismic engineering;
  • Experience in project delivery including leading packages of work and management of multi-disciplinary project teams; and
  • Fantastic interpersonal skills with the desire to deliver outstanding service to our clients.
