We're looking for a Data Science Intern to join us for a 10 week paid internship, during the summer break.Movio Data ScienceDelivering insights, predictive analytics, and optimisation are key to Movio’s products.
The Data Science team is constantly exploring new technologies in machine learning and new developments in the field of predictive analytics.
Evaluating our research findings and considering their relevance for our products is a large part of the Data Science team’s work.
What R&D project will you be contributing to?During your 10 week internship, you will be working on our 'Intelligent Budgeting and Fuzzy Algorithms' project.
In this project we are considering opportunities for incorporating predictive analytics into one of our newest products. The aim will be to use artificial intelligence to develop strategies that aid users in making decisions that are far too complex to be optimised by manual work.
This is an open-ended research project and requires a student with excellent research skills. You will engage in the entire process of undertaking such a project in a real corporate environment - Understanding the problem and business requirements, developing multiple solutions, engaging with stakeholders from various divisions within Movio, developing a project plan, and presenting your work to stakeholders within Movio.
The complexity of the project and solution will be tailored to the skill set of the student.Why are we looking?We see this as a great way of keeping in touch with current education in the data science field, and gauging potential for future employees.
This is a new project, and due to the data science team currently dealing with a large amount of work, it will be beneficial to engage a student with the appropriate skills to help develop this solution.
The proposed project is expected to produce a solution that will be of great value to the newly developed product, and therefore of considerable value Movio.
RequirementsTo be eligible, students must : Be studying, or have recently completed, an undergraduate or postgraduate degree or qualification at NZQA level 7-10.
