We currently have a unique opportunity for a Senior Systems Accountant to join our dedicated IFRS17 team, which is responsible for scoping, resourcing, planning and delivering the successful implementation of the new IFRS17 Accounting Standard for Suncorp.

This a great opportunity to further your professional development by contributing to the design and implementation of future finance systems and processes with the implementation of IFRS17 across the Suncorp NZ business

This is a fixed term contract running through until the end of May 2023

Key Responsibilities

Support the development of Suncorp's IFRS17 accounting artefacts

Drive the articulation of IFRS17 accounting events specific to Suncorp's insurance products resulting from IFRS17 business events

Support the configuration of the IFRS17 accounting and posting engine in Suncorp's IFRS17 sub ledger and associated IFRS17 accounting engines

Collaborate with the wider project team in relation to any systems accounting technical questions and issues arising as part of the configuration

Contribute to the design and implementation of an integrated end to end finance and actuarial operating model

Skills and Experience

Degree / Qualification in finance / accounting or similar

Membership of recognised professional body (e.g. CAANZ, CPA, CFA)

5+ years proven proficiency in accounting within financial services industry (ideally within insurance)

Extensive, proven systems accounting experience with knowledge of concepts and approaches

Experience with carrying out and contributing to systems testings, integration testing and use acceptance testing

Experience with the design and implementation of unit test cases and unit testing

Knowledge of finance systems including TM1, Perspectives, Cognos and Oracle Financials - Advantageous
