    Based in stunning Northland, this role will engage with landowners, tangata whenua, catchment groups and primary industry sector groups with the aim of improving land management practices (especially soil conservation) and ultimately improving water quality in our rivers, lakes and streams.

    We are seeking someone who enjoys building close working relationships and being part of the community they serve. Kanohi ki te kanohi is our preferred style of working.

    We believe face to face interactions are integral to the work we deliver. We are seeking someone who is committed to the place, the mahi and the kaupapa.

    This position is a fixed-term contract ending 30th June 2023 to align with government grant funding.

    Are you up for it?

    We are looking for someone who can bring the following to our diverse talent pool :

  • Knowledge and familiarity with New Zealand's agricultural and / or horticultural systems and the regulatory framework that underpins the management of natural resources in New Zealand.
  • Enthusiasm and an ability to build effective relationships
  • Ability to negotiate, motivate and persuade others with a high level of diplomacy and tact.
  • Great verbal and written communication skills, including an ability to write reports and speak both formally and informally in public
  • Confident with concepts of te ao Māori
