Corporate Records Advisor

    Due to a secondment, we need another enthusiastic, motivated records management champion to help complete critical projects.

    This is a great opportunity for someone who has worked in a records management role for a couple of years and is looking for a step up in responsibility and challenge.

    Reporting to the Corporate Records Specialist, the Advisor provides key support with :

  • Developing and improving procedures.
  • Advising and training Southern DHB staff on best practice records management, particularly digitisation compliance.
  • Appraising and processing physical and digital records for retention and disposal.
  • Responding to records access requests.
  • We’re looking for someone who :

  • Has worked with records before, preferably with experience appraising and sentencing using General Disposal Authorities.
  • Understands the Public Records Act 2005, General Disposal Authority for DHBs 2006, Archives New Zealand Information and Records Management Standard 2016, Contract and Commercial Law Act 2017 and Privacy Act 2020.
  • Communicates effectively with a wide range of people.
  • Is happy to be left alone to get on with things and doesn’t mind repetitive tasks.
  • Uses a good dose of common sense.
  • Loves data entry and excels at spotting a full stop in the wrong place.
  • Finds satisfaction in a job well done (and doesn’t mind getting a little dusty in the process).
