The team works collaboratively with business streams to develop strategies that allow ASB to win in chosen markets. Leveraging strategy tools and frameworks, the team generates in-depth business insight of our customers, our competition, the environment, global trends and ourselves to find our point of differentiation in the market to enable our success.
As the Head of Strategy for Business & Corporate Banking this is where you come in; you will lead the development, communicate and monitor the execution of medium and long-term business and operational strategies for the divisions, in collaboration with the BB and CB leadership teams and Corporate strategy.
What you will doLeading a small team of direct reports, you will be tasked with shaping strategies to meet medium and long-term goals of ASB and BB and CB.
You will undertake a broad review of strategy - identifying gaps, opportunities and risks through challenging key strategic assumptions.
You will ensure strategies are embedded within business units; supporting the business to monitor, test and adapt their strategies where needed to stay on track.
Working closely with the transformation team, you will be instrumental in seeing some of our strategic initiatives to fruition.
Applying analytical capability to your work, you will ensure that BB and CB meet profit, growth and customer targets through strong insights.
What we are looking forYou will have proven success in strategy development and implementation with a solid understanding of the frameworks and methodologies required to develop effective strategies.
You will be a natural facilitator, skilled at drawing out and bringing together the people, thinking, data, research, feedback and customer needs to channel innovation into customer delivery mechanisms that deliver to fulfilment and beyond.
Your previous experience and credibility will help you challenge current thinking and your presentation skills, financial acumen and excellent report writing ability will ensure you can effectively influence change with senior and executive leaders.
Success in this role will come from your ability to quickly build credibility and effective relationships across all levels of the division and organisation.
