What we do

Enable New Zealand is one of the largest providers of support services across the health, rehabilitation and disability sector for the provision of equipment, housing and vehicle modifications, holding regional and national contracts with the Ministry of Health, ACC and District Health Boards.

Enable New Zealand is an operating division of MidCentral District Health Board, with its head office in Palmerston North, with sites in Christchurch and Hamilton.

The opportunity

Working closely with the Director Operations, the primary function of the Business Improvement Manager is to develop and lead an ongoing programme of continuous business improvement initiatives across Enable NZ, with a strong focus on reviewing and improving processes and systems that drive greater service excellence, cost efficiencies, comply with legislative, and operational standards, and align with Enabling Good Lives principles.

With insight into a variety of areas including all services, warehousing, and IT systems, this role supports the business to deliver better value, efficiency and customer service by identifying and eliminating unnecessary complexity within business processes.

Other responsibilities include supporting the Director Operations with management reporting, research and projects, and providing strategic advice to the General Manager and Senior Leadership Team in their respective areas of responsibility.

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline
  • Process and business improvement background
  • Experience working in a diverse service environment

  • Excellent practical management / leadership and people skills
  • Strong ability to influence, analyse and problem solve with a strategic outlook
  • A solution-focussed approach
  • Experience with report and business case writing, including preparation and presentation
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Time management and prioritisation skills
  • A vaccination passport all employees within the health sector must be vaccinated
