The Oncology Department at Southland Hospital is a busy, challenging and rewarding place to work and is looking to appoint a Medical Transcriptionist on a permanent, part-time basis.
About the Service
Our valuable service looks after the care of medical oncology, radiation oncology, haematology and Medical Day Stay patients receiving chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive therapy, or patients who have recently returned from radiation therapy in Dunedin.
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced typist to support our service on a part-time basis. This is a role that will provide ample opportunities to demonstrate your outstanding coordination skills, your ability to work autonomously and use your initiative.
This is a demanding role working with a high level of administration tasks and interfacing with a large multidisciplinary team, so if you are looking for your next career challenge, look no further!
The salary range for this position is currently up to $51,240 (pro rata for part time) and the commencement step will be based on relevant experience.
Please note the collective agreement salary scale for this role is currently under review.
About You
As a typist you will have strong attention to detail with a typing speed of at least 70wpm. Ideally you’ll already have medical typing experience, but if not - we’d like to hear from those excellent typists out there who are interested in working in health.
Please note that our preferred candidate may be required to undertake a typing proficiency test to be measured for speed and accuracy).
with the ability to type accurately with high attention to detail. You must also be conscious of working with the utmost discretion as you’ll be privy to confidential patient information.
You may be required to assist other departments for staff leave or if another department is struggling to meet their typing deadlines.
