    This is an exciting opportunity this client, regarded as the premier consultancy in the contaminated land sector in New Zealand, in a service delivery focussed role.

    The focus of this role will be :

  • Managing project delivery
  • Technical Expertise in Contaminated Land
  • Business development / repeat business
  • Project Financial Performance
  • Training and Mentoring of junior staff
  • Technical input for projects
  • As Service Line Leader for Contaminated Land in Christchurch, you will provide a key interface for our client’s customers on a day to day basis, collaborating with other members of the business to ensure successful technical project delivery.

    The variety of projects across the contaminated land spectrum will provide you with plenty of variety and opportunity to utilise your full technical skill set in this field.

    About You

    Our client is seeking a Bachelor’s degree qualified, with preference for Masters in Environmental Geology, Geoenvironmental or Environmental Science from a recognised leading university (and if not from a New Zealand University, this will need to be a Washington Accord recognised degree).

    This position would ideally suit someone with at least 10+ years post graduate professional experience in Contaminated Land, preferably including at least 4 years of field experience.

    Through this experience, you will be able to demonstrate experience of :

  • Hazardous waste, solid waste and contaminated sites
  • Air quality, gaseous / particulate emissions, vapour intrusion
  • Environmental management and Environmental site audits
  • Occupational hygiene (including asbestos)
  • Project Management including scoping, budgeting, supervision, management, assessment and completion of contaminated land projects
  • Interpretation of contaminant chemistry within a range of environmental media.
  • Dataanalysis, conceptual model development and assessment of media testing results against guidelines
  • Preparation and peer review of technical reports
  • Numerical modelling of contaminant fate and transport
  • Input into resource consent applications (including compilation and coordination of AEEs) and liaison with Regional and Territorial Authority staff (and other stakeholders)
  • Experience in the assessment of risk from asbestos would be preferred but not essential
  • Candidates for this position will need to hold the right to work in New Zealand.
