    What will I be doing?

    This is where you come in! Whānau are at the heart of everything we do so you’ll be playing a key role in building relationships with our children and families here at BestStart Leeds St.

    BestStart Leeds Street is conveniently situated in the Wellington inner city, our extended learning environment. We provide opportunities for children to develop their independence, building self-esteem and pride in themselves.

    We also leave the city to go on our weekly Nature Connection Programme where the children head to the bush for the morning to discover nature at its best, giving them opportunities to be active and adventurous.

    Alongside our Primary Caregiving practice, which is inspired by the RIE philosophy, we believe partnership with whānau is important in providing quality care and holistic education for our children.

    The role of Centre Administrator provides plenty of variety between reception and administration work. You will be the first point of contact for our families, greeting our children and whanau, taking phone and email enquiries.

    The administration side includes everything from enrolments and data entry as well as invoicing and account information.

    This position is permanent and part time working 30 hours per week (5 days a week working 6 hours per day).

    Role requirements :

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills- verbal / written
  • Attention to detail to ensure that processes are completed effectively and efficiently
  • Administrative experience and excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Computer literate with the ability to take on new skills, learn processes and new technology
  • Be able to take the initiative but also be able to take direction
  • Ability to build trusting relationships with tamariki and whanau
  • Abled multi-tasker who is welcoming, approachable and a team player with an excellent sense of humour
