As Head of Operations you will be responsible for overall leadership of and delivery of the Refugee Status Unit (RSU). You will work closely with senior leadership and will need to take both a strategic leadership role while ensuring excellent operational management of the refugee status system.
You will be responsible for leading a process of embedding continuous improvement in conjunction with your management team and managing stakeholder relationships at a national level.
Being a great Head of Operations Refugee Status Unit means : Ensuring that the Refugee Status Unit consistently, effectively and efficiently provides a determination process that is fit-for-purpose, supports quality decisions and is fair and timelyLeading the unit strategically whilst ensuring excellent operational deliveryUnderstanding your stakeholders and being able to build and maintain excellent relationships across the sectorBeing a part of the Refugee and Migrant Services Leadership Team and contributing to the operation of New Zealand's refugee system at a national level.
You will bring with you : A track record of managing strategically and delivering operational excellence; leading and supporting your people to deliverExperience in developing and maintaining key networks and relationships with stakeholders and in being able to work in complex political environmentsExperience in applying risk management concepts and frameworks when making decisions in complex operating environmentsExperience in implementing quality processes and strategies designed to improve productivity and delivery of excellent customer serviceA strong understanding and knowledge of humanitarian law and New Zealand's international refugee obligations.
