  • Our near-term targets include a 100% electric owned fleet and a 25% reduction in emissions from contracted fleet by 2025

  • Our parcel business is growing fast, our ambition is to be a low carbon delivery business and our sustainability ambition / aspiration is Every decision, every investment, every target, needs to have sustainability at its core Working as part of a passionate, respected team, you will be relied on for your subject matter expertise and capabilities in carbon reduction and environmental impacts.

    Your excellent influencing and relationship management skills will grow advocacy and capability across the business to achieve our carbon reduction targets and expand our impact.

    This opportunity will enable you to direct and lead environmental initiatives by acting as Programme Manager for the low carbon roadmap and action plans.

    We've got huge expectations for this role and you'll have support from the top and across our business to do things like :

  • Develop a Net Zero plan to 2050
  • Identify and foster relationships with collaborators, funders and other parties to work with to achieve our goals
  • Develop and implement a low carbon heavy freight roadmap
  • Engage in our Te Iho 2030 infrastructure growth plan to ensure sustainability is embedded
  • Advise on climate risk identification and adaptation under a TCFD framework
  • Advise on sustainable packaging and Circular economy solutions
  • Provide expertise to the marketing and business teams on green claims
  • Develop and embed carbon KPIs / carbon pricing across business
  • Research and investigate green products / services
  • Tackle Aviation emissions
  • Provide thought leadership and strategic insights to Exec team and other parts of the business on sustainability best practice and changes
  • Provide technical leadership in carbon measurement and reporting including through the Toitu carbon reduce certification and P2P carbon neutral sending
  • Represent NZ Post on relevant industry working groups such as the Sustainable Business Council Low carbon Heavy Freight and the International Post Corporation Sustainability work programme.
