About the role

As a procurement specialist within the utilities portfolio you will support the supplier and agency relationships within key government contracts with the utilities portfolio.

You will develop and apply your procurement knowledge and experience to generate strategic direction for the function and deliver excellence of business partnering for medium and long term benefits.

In the role you will :

  • Work with suppliers to create and deliver commercial and public value for government agencies and New Zealand Inc
  • Support government agencies, such as departments, health boards, schools and local authorities in how they purchase, manage and utilise government procurement and All-of-Government contracts
  • Develop your skills and knowledge of the procurement lifecycle, government contracting and strategic supplier relationship management disciplines
  • Deliver positive outcomes for government, suppliers and government agencies on behalf of New Zealanders
  • Skills and experience required :

  • Preferably knowledge and work experience in the electricity, gas or energy management sectors. .
  • Commercially astute with a track record of delivering customer and commercial value.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships that deliver positive changes
  • Must have legal right to live and work in NZ
