  • About the role

    As a senior Network Security Engineer, you will be responsible for helping to protect Police networks from cyber-attacks.

    You will help clean things up if we are experiencing issues and more importantly, help us get the right processes and rules in place to ensure that our network is safeguarded from any future attacks.

    You will also be responsible for the provisioning, deployment, configuration, and administration of many different pieces of network and security-related hardware.

    These include firewalls, routers, switches, various network-monitoring tools, and virtual private networks (VPNs).

    Key aspects of the role will be to :

  • Support the Operations Manager in the network technology space.
  • Manage and identify risks to core infrastructure and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Liaise with vendor partners and stakeholders across ICT.
  • Support the Operations Manager on implementing the strategic direction of network security.
  • Support the Operations Manager on continuous improvement initiatives across Technology Operations and ICT.
  • Engage with other technology teams to provide oversight and support for technology operations.

    This is a dynamic and challenging position, and the successful applicant will need to be able to demonstrate the following :

  • Extensive experience in supporting / troubleshooting network border security / firewalls in a large organisation;
  • Extensive experience in Service Delivery in a large organisation;
  • Industry certification in a relevant field , CCNP Security, Cisco Firewall Security Specialist or equivalent experience desirable;
  • Fortinet NSE Certification or equivalent experience desirable but not essential; &
  • Successful applicant must be able to obtain a Top Secret Government security clearance.
  • This role is set at Individual Contributor level , this means your key purpose is to deliver or enable others to deliver Our Business .
