About the role

Due to our ever-growing business, an exciting opportunity has opened for a Data & Analytics Platform Lead , based in either our Wellington or Auckland offices.

The Data & Analytics Platform Lead is a key leader and contributor engaging and supporting a high profile client, leading a nationwide team, it is a role in which the right candidate must have proven leadership skills on large data & analytics or data warehousing projects.

Ideally the applicant will combine skills in project management, client and vendor relationship management and strong technical leadership in the field of modern data and analytics platforms.

Project Management :

Managing the ingestion and refinement of data into a modern platform in alignment with key dates from related work streams in addition to major threads of work within the platform (such as an impending migration to Snowflake), requires strong project management and planning skills

Client Relationship Management :

This is a key role within the client data and analytics organisation and involves daily connections with multiple members of the client organisation.

The role is seen as a key and strategic advisor in helping them plan for the optimal strategic direction in the future

Vendor Relationship Management :

Tenzing is involved in partnership with other vendors and maintaining consistency of messaging and actions is an important part of the role

Technical leadership :

The applicant is not expected to be an expert in every facet of planning, implementing and supporting a modern platform, but it is expected that the successful applicant will have a strong data background and will be capable of directing the data architects, data engineers and analysts within the team to maintain a consistent approach to the design and delivery of data ingestion and refinement as well as support and platform administration

About you

To be considered for this exciting opportunity you will have the following :

Demonstrated experience in building and maintaining relationships across all levels of an organisation and with sector partners and stakeholders.

You will need to have the ability to facilitate discussions between technical and non-technical audiences at all levels.

A solid background in data and analytics in large and / or complex organisations (probably 10+ years) with an emphasis on delivery of data warehouse programmes and the design of data ingestion processes and target data models

Highly developed leadership skills, with proven experience in building high performing teams.

Knowledge of how to drive change in fast moving, complex environments with multiple competing priorities.

The ability to work in networks, collaborating and sharing knowledge across functions and with partners to respond with agility to events and new challenges.

A track record of developing and implementing a data and analytics strategy, business intelligence strategy, or equivalent.

Experience in the public sector is desirable and experience in the finance and banking industry would be beneficial, but is not a must have
