About this opportunity

As an Operational Risk Specialist you will partner with the business to drive appropriate risk management practice, develop and deliver operational risk training and coach and challenge Line 1 to ensure that the business increases in risk maturity.
This is a hands-on leadership role working across the entire business and will provide great exposure that will challenge and grow your development. About the role :
Ownership of operational risk management guides, training & awareness tools to ensure that risk process and reporting is driving appropriate and considered decision making
Development and delivery of training and awareness materials to support users in meeting policy, conduct and risk behavioural requirements
Ensuring that business unit risk registers accurately reflect risk, associated controls and appropriately map to organisational strategic objectives
Ensuring that a timely review of business unit risk registers takes place
Ensuring that business units are performing controls tests as per agreed plans and provides appropriate challenge over their effectiveness
Ensuring that appropriate and regular communication with business units is in place to discuss concerns, share insights and provides updates of relevant risk information
Responsible for ensuring a healthy risk management processes aligned to Board appetite is maintained, balancing the demands for agility, growth & innovation, with keeping the organisation safe from material or systemic risk
Ensuring risks resulting from change activity is appropriately captured, reported and escalated as needed
Coaching and supporting Line 1 on how to apply risk management frameworks and assist with the timely resolution of issues or non-compliance
Developing and implementing strategies for improving risk management practice
About you :
2+ years’ experience in a risk role within financial services, insurance or health
Degree qualification in business or finance discipline
Proven experience influencing senior leaders and key stakeholders across the business
Experience managing and or utilizing web-based Enterprise Risk management systems, data analytics and visual reporting tools
Experience in implementing and managing risk policies and operational risk-related training programmes
Demonstrated ability to engage in complex and challenging conversations and the ability to provide coaching for capability uplift
Experience in or exposure to Board & executive governance processes
Risk based professional qualification (desirable)
2+ years proven experience in Agile project management (desirable)
