Mail and Administration Clerk Parttime 20 hours per week The Embassy of the United States of America in Wellington is seeking a committed enthusiastic and energetic individual for the position of Mail and Administration Clerk The incumbent works as a member of the Information Resource Management team and is responsible for unclassified mail and pouch operations for US Embassy Wellington and its constituent posts in Auckland Christchurch and Samoa The incumbent provides analysis and management to ensure the timely and accurate shipment of thousands of official U S Government documents and packages through the daily process of sorting bagging and routing all items leaving the Diplomatic Pouch and Mail office This position is also responsible for coordinating the section s travel recording time and attendance and coordinating procurement requests To be considered for this role you must have a clean valid full NZ drivers license you must also be able to lift 30kg packages and operate various machines associated with mail handling operations e g franking scales and computer You must have completed secondary school and have at least one year s experience in mail handling or office environment You will have good communication skills and be able to deal tactfully with personnel using mailroom facilities and ensure delivery of quality customer service Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications are necessary The starting salary range for this position is NZD 53 82372 657 per annum will be prorated for parttime hours Actual starting salary will be commensurate with experience and internal equities We also offer some special benefits e g both U S and New Zealand Holidays a total of 20 days and 8 7 contribution by the employer to an employees retirement A copy of the full job description is available on our website under the job listing If you meet all the eligibility criteria for this role please submit your application using our online portal Please DO NOT submit through Seek Applications sent via email will not be accepted If you have any questions please email wellington hr state gov All employees of the U S Government are required to complete full medical and security background checks Security clearances can take several weeks to process and employment cannot be commenced until an appropriate clearance is confirmed Inability to obtain a clearance prevents the applicant from being employed and loss of a security clearance at any time will lead to termination of employment The U S Government is not able to sponsor a work visa for applicants who do not already have work authorization for New Zealand Applications close at midnight on Monday 20 January 2020 Note Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted regarding the next phase of the selection process To those applicants not short listed we extend our appreciation for considering the U S Government as a potential employer Please email wellington hr state gov for any queries
