About the role

The Infrastructure and Digital Assets (IDA) team provides a range of asset-based services to support the delivery of Corrections' core business and ensure we can maintain consistent service delivery regardless of external events and crises.

The group comprises four key areas : Asset Management, Procurement, Public Private Partnerships and Digital Services.

As Summer Intern Strategic Asset Management, we are looking for someone with knowledge and experience with Geospatial applications and data manipulation.

The role accountabilities include :

  • Supporting the implementation and development of the GIS Database and links to our other Asset Mgt Systems
  • SPM Assets, SAP and numerous spreadsheets
  • Set up and develop the Enterprise Data warehouse (EDW) for Asset Mgt systems
  • Review and develop our reporting functionality via the EDW and PowerBI

    What you will bring to Corrections :

  • Practical experience in Geospatial applications
  • Working knowledge of Geospatial databases, basic programming skills and data management
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise workload
  • Well-developed numeric and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Inquisitive and proactive approach to understand trends, root causes of effects and identify opportunities
  • Demonstrated computer literacy, particularly Microsoft Office suite and databases
  • Excellent customer service skills and attitude
  • Ability to multi-task, work independently, and manage changing priorities
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and manage sensitive information
  • Knowledge of industry standard asset information management frameworks and principles
  • Strong team and teamwork ethics
  • To be considered for this Summer Internship, you must be in your final year or Post Graduate in Computer Science.

    Pay Rate : $23.00 per hour.
