Our mission, which guides us in what we do and why, is Energy Freedom for all New Zealanders. This is about Aotearoa New Zealand being stronger economically and more sustainable through better use of homegrown, renewable energy.
Our company-wide focus of 'Thriving Today, Shaping Tomorrow' is the strategic foundation that underpins what we do and how we work together.
It builds on our mindset of long-term thinking and considered decision making, with the impact on our customers, communities and country at its heart.
Our Opportunity :
Leading a team of 7 direct reports and reporting to the Manager Maintenance Execution, your role will lead, plan, schedule, coordinate and execute major plant turnarounds (shuts) within Mercury.
You will take ownership of the plant, coordinating all the planning of work (both geothermal and hydro generation stations) and work with your team to help manage the turnaround.
Upon completion of the turnaround (shutdown), you'll then hand the asset back to the Plant Manager.
While preference is for this role to be based in Rotorua, central to a large number of our sites, there is flexibility to be based in Taupo - both of which offer a beautiful landscape with plenty of activities outside of work.
This is also a great opportunity for someone from the oil and gas industry to transition into renewable energy. We welcome applications from overseas.
