General Manager Lower North Island Our client is a leader in the youth development sector and encourages the growth learning and development of young people so that they can play a constructive part in society They do this through delivering a range of exciting and adventurous programmes and activities across New Zealand that empowers young people to make a positive difference in their communities They are an iconic and trusted organisation within New Zealand and a member of a worldwide youth Movement that has a membership measured in millions This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic person who has genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of young people If you are an aspiring volunteer who wants to step up or proven leader then this is the role for you Reporting to the Chief Executive you will be responsible for managing the all aspects of the volunteers function and managing the Movement from Wellington through to Tauranga which will include Daytoday management of volunteers leading managing and supporting volunteers Develop and implement the strategic growth plan and growing new memberships Ensure the organisation s external profile are maintained and promoted through ongoing communication and community engagement Coach and work closely with Zone Leaders Group Leaders and Volunteers to build a strong cohesive team that strengthens the Movement Manage any complaints received from the regions by the public and volunteers Contribute to the Operational Leadership Team OLT to ensure consistency of application of policy and process across the Movement This is a permanent fulltime position 40 hours per week ideally based in Wellington Other North Island locations and flexible options to work remotely from home will be considered for the right candidate There will be an expectation to travel within the North Island excluding Auckland To be considered for this role you will be an experienced leader with a broad background of skills across both volunteer management and operational management A high level of business acumen exceptional leadership skills and the ability to work autonomously as well as across the wider business are essential Person Profile Proven operational or general management experience within a similar role Demonstrate competency with managing volunteers Strong interpersonal and relationship building capabilities A demonstrated ability to lead inspire motivate and influence others Highly developed communication and engagement skills An empathy with the notforprofit voluntary and community sectors Proficient with Google Suite and cloudbased CRM databases Highly motivated and selfmanaging A full and clean NZ driver s licence is essential Applications close 5pm Wednesday 4 December 2019Applications to Ngan Nguyen at mclaren co nzPosition description Available to view at mclaren co nz P 04 499 1069E admin mclaren co nz
