Humes is a standalone business unit within the Building Products division of the Fletcher Building Group. Humes externally sources and distributes a range of products made from various materials and manufactures a range of concrete pipe and precast structures for the infrastructure, drainlayer and rural markets.

The Civil Infrastructure segment is Humes’ largest market and key stakeholders include civil contractors, consultants (specifiers) and asset owners.

Humes has 14 sales branches and 5 manufacturing sites around New Zealand and the product range includes, concrete, plastic, PVC and ductile iron pipes, valves, streetwear and telecommunication products.

The RoleReporting to the Category Manager Plastics & Merchandise, this role will see you supporting a team of two Category Manager’s across all aspects of pricing, reporting, product ranging, process disciplines, lifecycle management and a range of innovation and new product launches across our Concrete and Plastic pipeline products.

Based at our head office in Penrose, your core function will be focused on providing reporting and analytical recommendations to the category managers.

You will also be responsible for reviewing sales performance and liaising with suppliers to answer queries from the stores about their products.

About you;You will be a skilled Category Assistant or Analyst, preferably with a minimum of 2-3 years’ of relevant experience.

You will be a great communicator and enjoy speaking with people from all walks of life. You will also have solid influencing skills and the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders is key.

  • Alongside this you can also demonstrate the following : Innovative with a solutions approach Strong analytical and project management skills with excellent attention to detail is a must! Systems savvy and highly proficient in Excel JDE experience would be preferred but is not essential Product knowledge of plastic and merchandise products is preferred Thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to pivot and manage changing prioritiesIn return;
