Job Description

As a Support Engineer, you will be part of a high performing agile and cross-functional product team in the Group Business Operations tribe.

Whilst the ongoing support, management, and maintenance of the solutions is your primary goal, you will also perform other duties required for the team to deliver on their goals while ensuring that the operation of each solution continues to meet business objectives.

  • You will not only be passionate about the role that you play in the team but also the solutions in the core systems area and the organisational benefits that they provide;
  • with a keen willingness to share and mentor other members of your team.

    About you :

  • Experience delivering continuous change and improvements to IT systems;
  • The ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Strong general systems knowledge, and the ability to abstract that knowledge over similar systems
  • Continuous Improvement focus
  • Excellent understanding of systems integration, patterns, techniques, and related challenges.
  • Experience in the process of resolving problems on information systems and familiarity with the associated tools and techniques
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience. Lateral thinking and analytical ability essential.
  • Able to be on on-call roaster
  • Essential Qualifications and experience needed :

  • BSc Computer Science or similar.
  • Some understanding of Windows 10 and higher.
  • Some understanding of Web Services and API's.
  • Solid understanding of Retail concepts and principles as they relate to the source process
  • Solid understanding of SQL.
  • Solid understanding of JSON.
  • Solid experience in writing support documentation.
  • The ability to understand of how solutions are architected and integrated internally and with external third-party software.
