Hydrographic Surveyor Temporary fulltime from ASAP to 30 March 2020 40 490 90 621 per annum Attractive superannuation leave entitlements and overtime If you have a passion for exploring Queenslands coastline and are tech savvy then this role may be for you As a Hydrographic Surveyor you will be based in Brisbane but required to travel throughout the year for periods of up to four weeks to conduct hydrographic surveys along the Queensland coast The successful applicant will possess a Degree in Surveying from a recognised tertiary institution or have qualifications and experience that are deemed suitable by the General Manager Maritime Safety Queensland Benefits include Salary level based on experience and suitability 12 75 superannuation 20 days recreational leave p a 10 days personal sick leave p a 5 days additional hydro leave p a Accrual of long service leave for future access Support towards training and possible incentive payment for Australasian Hydrographic Surveyors Certification Panel AHSCP Level 1 Certification Applicable overtime rates when performing work onboard a vessel Accountabilities include Conducting and managing hydrographic survey projects throughout Queensland Providing accurate and detailed project reports to management Assisting in the implementation and development of standards procedures and guidelines to achieve effective management of personnel and resources Providing training to marine operations staff in surveying related duties Acting as a mentor to graduate hydrographic surveyors and support other hydrographic surveyors Investigating and identifying new developments in technology methods and products to provide advice to management of their application in the maritime environment As directed preparing cost estimates and hydrographic survey instructions for hydrographic projects throughout the state Providing expert technical advice to group personnel management Regional Harbour Masters Port Authorities and other industry clients Accurately storing tidal recordings in the Tides database and undertaking tidal analysis Refer to the role description for a full list of accountabilities and further information about the competencies or contact Mr Owen Cantrill Manager Hydrographic Services on 07 3066 3500 to discuss the role Applications to remain current for 12 months Job ad reference QLD 324411 19 Closing date Wednesday 9 October 2019
