ELSA works to make learning and teaching relevant, real and valued. We deliver and maintain critical services for the education sector to support responsive learner pathways from early childhood into further education, training, the workforce and society.
ELSA performs a crucial role working between the strategy and policy teams, and the sector facing functions.The Secondary Tertiary Group is responsible for operational policy, curriculum and support programmes for Year 11-13 learners, and the secondary-tertiary interface.
This includes senior secondary curriculum, NCEA (including the ongoing NCEA Review and preparing for the Review of Achievement Standards) and secondary-tertiary pathways and transitions.
Project Coordinator roleThe Review of Achievement Standards project (RAS) will review and update assessment tools and resources for level 1, 2 and 3 subjects in line with current best practice.
The Project Coordinator is part of the RAS team, and supports the project in the planning, controlling and administration activities throughout the life of the project.
About the personWe are looking for someone who is thoughtful, agile and adept at handling ambiguity and complexity. Our ideal candidate will take pride in producing high quality work and will be comfortable working independently to achieve defined objectives.
The person will be sensitive to cultural values and have a good understanding of the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
We are wanting someone who has experience working in the project / programme space, managing and working across multiple projects and workstreams with competing pressures.
They will have a proactive mindset and be able to identify and mitigate risks as they arise and engage with stakeholders.
They will have sharp interpersonal skills, superior writing skills, and will be comfortable working with a diverse range of stakeholders and representing the Ministry.
Experience and qualificationsIt is desirable that candidates may have or be working towards a relevant tertiary qualification or project management qualification (e.
