Based in Onehunga, a Behaviour Advisor is responsible for providing specialist behaviour support advice and guidelines that include coaching and mentoring of Service Coordinators and front line staff.
The comprehensive support will promote continuous improvement to quality of life and assist people to achieve their outcome goals.
Note that this position is for a fixed term to cover the maternity leave of a current staff member.If successful your role will include, but are not limited to : Supporting people with a high and complex needs and behaviours of concernProviding resource information, training and adviceReviewing and supporting implementation of plans and interventionsMaintenance of records and statisticsParticipation in team processes and professional developmentKey competencies : A tertiary qualification at Bachelors level or a current professional qualification in Allied Health, Teaching, Counselling or Human ServicesPrevious experience in supporting people with an intellectual disability and experience working in the field of Autism Spectrum DisorderNumeracy and Computer LiteracyStrong communication and interpersonal skillsClass 1 Full NZ Drivers LicenceAs well as the above, the suitable candidate will be a self-organised, self-motivated professional who is proactive and demonstrates leadership and team work abilities.
