About the role
This new role will see you playing a pivotal role in the Employment Relations team and the People and Capability work programme.
You will lead a team responsible for developing, improving and implementing processes and systems relating to employment relationship problem resolution in Ara Poutama.
Your key responsibilities will include :
Overseeing and monitoring advice, guidance and support to the regions and business partners about complex ER matters
The continuous improvement of how we manage complex ER related issues
Supporting the resolution of more complex employment relationships issues with a team of ER specialists

You will be a collaborative, strategic thinker, ideally with a background working in large workforces that are highly unionised.
You will have :
Significant experience in resolving Employment Relations issues
Extensive knowledge of employment law and other relevant legislation
Strong relationship management skills including the ability to influence senior leaders
The motivation to work and inspire in a busy, fast paced team environment with high workloads
A strong level of cultural capability and awareness and an understanding of Te Tiriti O Waitangi and it's application is desired
