The Environmental Monitoring Team is a core function at ORC, providing vital information to other parts of the organisation and customers to support the management of Otago’s natural resources.

About the opportunity
Reporting to the Manager Environmental Monitoring, the Team Leader Monitoring will provide leadership to a team of specialist technicians responsible for delivering Otago’s environmental monitoring programme.

This is a functional leadership role with a technical focus that needs a true people leader someone who listens, values and empowers their team to be their best. Is this you?
To be successful in this role, you will have proven experience leading and working with technical specialists across a range of disciplines.
Your knowledge and understanding of environmental monitoring standards and relevant legislation will be key. As will your ability to effectively govern and manage projects and programmes ensuring the efficient allocation of resources.
This position has a strong focus on leadership and liaising with stakeholders you’ll be actively involved in working across a variety of areas whilst providing support and guidance to an experienced and dedicated team.
You will need to be driven, adaptable, innovative, resilient, and have a desire to think outside the box to guide your team through changes and challenges to create a truly rewarding workplace.
