The role
Reporting to the Superintendent - Mining your primary responsibility is to ensure the underground mining operations equipment, production and utilisation targets are achieved in a cost-effective, timely and safe manner.
Role modelling our company values and safety behaviours while ensuring industry best practices, following mining regulations and our approved procedures;
you will bring to the role at least five years' experience in underground metalliferous mining and previous experience in a supervisory role.
Well-skilled in achieving mining targets, leading people, team building and performance management.
Working eight days on, six off, eight nights on, six off; with your strong communication skills, desire to coach develop and lead, thorough understanding of the underground policies and procedures, willingness to master our computer systems, and obtain an A or B Grade Certificate of Competency (CoC).
Key tasks and responsibilities :
Leading, coaching and developing your crew
Supporting the Superintendent - Mining to achieve strategic objectives and required outputs
Liaising with internal stakeholders and external contractors
Supervising development activities
Overseeing pre-shift safety and tool box safety meetings
Monitoring operator compliance to our Company SOPs, conducting inspections and audits every swing
Generating ideas and solutions and supporting your crew to do the same
Ensuring accurate records are kept and information is entered daily into INX and SuccessFactors
The successful candidate will :
Ideally have a New Zealand A or B Grade Tunnel Managers' Certificate of Competency (CoC), or the ability to obtain one
A minimum of five years of underground metalliferous mining experience in development activities
Previous supervisory experience
A minimum of basic computer skills and the willingness to develop them further
An agile and flexible approach to your work.
