We are acting now and aligning to the strategic direction of our business. This new way of operating will enable a collaborative model combining strong operational line management with end to end process expertise.

As such we are now looking for a Strategic Programme Manager to join the team. About the Strategy & Excellence Operational Team NZ Post operates an integrated network where items are delivered safely, in the most cost-effective and profitable manner based on the class of service the customer has paid for.

The Strategy and Operational Excellence team are responsible for ensuring that the capabilities for this are defined, built and maintained in such a way that decentralised operations can utilise these to meet the defined service, safety and cost outcomes.

About the role Reporting to the GM Strategy & Operational Excellence you'll lead the delivery of the strategic program through the design, co-ordination and implementation of multiple projects / workstreams to achieve the optimal outcomes in alignment with the CSD business plan.

You'll ensure effective risk, issue, dependency and delivery management to realise the benefits from these initiatives As we undergo major transformational change which impacts every aspect of our business, from our physical networks through to our digital solutions, you'll be working across multi-disciplinary teams across data, technology and supply chain processes.

As an outcome you'll be accountable for :

  • Developing strategic initiative roadmaps, plans, budgets and benefits cases
  • Ensuring effective engagement with key stakeholders (both internal and external) across the programme lifecycle to ensure success
  • Ensuring strategic initiatives are mobilised and resourced to meet programme needs
  • Monitoring and managing programme execution to meet budget, milestone, and benefit outcomes
  • Ensuring risks, issues and programme interdependencies are managed effectively, taking corrective action as needed.
  • Ensuring robust change leadership and management action to enable programme success About you As a seasoned Programme Manager, you'll be experienced in manging complex, high value programmes for large organisations.
  • You'll possess a strategic mind with strong commercial and financial acumen. You'll be a strong communicator who can clearly articulate a vision and influence key decision makers and stakeholders.

    As an experienced practitioner you'll ideally have either PMI or Prince2 qualifications, and either experience Six Sigma or Agile in your toolkit.

    If BABOK was in there too, that would be an added bonus. You'll couple all of this with experience in shaping, creating and managing a strategic program, ensuring appropriate focus on the overall program performance (ie, maintaining strategic alignment, driving value / benefits, managing costs, dependencies, risks and issues).
