We have an opportunity for you to join our team in the position of Transformation Programme Manager, reporting to the Director, Transformation and Change.

The purpose of this role is to drive the delivery of transformation programmes that will deliver a step change in service performance.

This is a dynamic and challenging position where you will be expected to bring high levels of stakeholder engagement, motivation and experience to understanding strategic objectives and what is required to achieve them.

In doing so you will have developed your engagement skills at all levels of organisations and be able to build significant networks and trust.

Skills - You will be able to :

  • Design, plan, and implement the programme, including the dossier of projects / workstreams, the programme plan, the programme governance framework, and resource and quality management.
  • Produce the programme business case, using Better Business Case methodology, for resourcing the programme, including defining the vision and blueprint for the proposed changes.
  • Prepare project business cases, and other project-related documentation as required.
  • Champion and apply the Police P3M (Portfolio, Programme and Project Management) Framework.
  • Monitor, and provide regular progress reporting via Police's Portfolio Management System to management and other appropriate parties.
  • Identify, analyse, document, manage and monitor any relevant issues, risks and opportunities that arise.
  • Deliver on the expectations and direction of the Commissioner, Executive Sponsor and the Strategic Leadership Board.
  • Develop and maintain effective and efficient working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Advise on and negotiate programme priorities, constraints, interdependencies, requirements, programme management methodology, phases and decision points.
  • Assess continuing business viability of the programme at regular intervals.
  • Initiate corrective action to the programme board and senior management as appropriate, to ensure that programme outcomes are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Experience - You will have :

  • 10+ years of recent experience successfully managing large transformational programmes, preferably in the Government sector
  • A relevant tertiary qualification, industry certification or equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
  • Extensive experience in successfully managing programme resources through a matrix management model.
  • Extensive experience in mentoring and coordinating the work of a team in all aspects of programme management and business change.
  • Programme Management certification desirable (, PgMP).
