At the Department of Population Health we work to understand thepractice of preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting thehealth of entire populations and population sub-

groups. This is akey goal in Aotearoa New Zealand to reduce health inequalities. TheDepartment also teaches undergraduate medical students in theirclinical years (years 4-

6) and also offers a variety ofpostgraduate programmes in public health. Research students aresupervised for Masters and PhD degrees.

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Population Health tojoin our Christchurch campus. This is a full-time, permanent(confirmation path) position.

In this role you will be requiredto :

  • Teach undergraduate and postgraduate students;
  • Participate in research studies and contribute to thedevelopment of new research projects;
  • Supervise research for Masters and PhD students; and
  • Be actively engaged with the University and participate invarious committees.
  • Qualifications should include a PhD as well as a PostgraduateDiploma and Masters in Public Health.
  • Broad Public Health expertise.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience.
  • Experience in epidemiology or health economics preferred.
  • An established research area with evidence of researchfunding.
  • A publication record commensurate with the position.
  • Experience in supervising Masters and PhD students.
