Position Summary & EnvironmentThis position will primarily focus on the development of an infrastructure strategy that aligns with the business’ vision and provides leadership to the Infrastructure function.

The aim is to architect an infrastructure that is robust, performant and future proof for the business.This is a hands-on management role, as you will spend your time both managing and working alongside our Infrastructure Engineers to maintain our large-scale platforms.

You will work alongside our Adaptiv Integration and C3 Post Trade businesses to support their work environments. Our C3 Post Trade environment is a global large-scale, fully on-premises SaaS platform that operates across cross-globe sites and you will be responsible for designing, operating, and provisioning the infrastructure for these platforms.

Central to the role is developing and managing projects and personnel to support strategic business initiatives, being across multiple programs at any one time and engaging project management tools and techniques that facilitate constant delivery in a dynamic and constantly changing environment.

The position requires balance between dealing with current projects and proactively addressing future requirements.IT is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires a flexible and adaptable individual who is able to remain optimistic and positive when faced with pressure and change.

This position is highly responsive to the requests of internal stakeholders with work priorities largely influenced by these stakeholders.

Responsible for infrastructure services to all locations, this can necessitate after hours work to assist in the resolution of faults as necessary, and international travel may be required.

Undertake comprehensive strategic planning to design and implement a long-range continuous change programme that transitions the infrastructure to a best of breed platform and maintains it at a high level in line with technical advances and shifting conditions.

Take a proactive role in the formulation of future strategic objectives bringing them to the Executive Management team for input, discussion and decision as to ratification.

Mentor and train infrastructure personnel.Management of IT NetworkManage the internal information technology infrastructure and systems to ensure they meet business requirements including : availability, performance and return on investment.

Responsible for creating and implementing appropriate processes, procedures and policies to ensure requirements are communicated and met.

Maintain a long-term commercial focus to prioritise projects and resources; recognising and planning for future business needs and proactive management of risk in line with the corporate vision.

Manage fault resolution in accordance with business impact.Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery capabilities.

Conduct monitoring of operational events for the early identification of potential issues or trends.Provide technical expertise to manage problems in line with assigned priorities.

Provide a robust and effective internal technical infrastructure and co-located platform with appropriate risk management that is future-proofed for both development and client services.

Procurement and divesting of hardware, software and telecommunications and maintenance of related documentation.Infrastructure Project WorkAccountability for the management and implementation of all Infrastructure projects within budget.

Ensure projects meet the technical and business specifications.Gather feedback from the business to use in planning and triggering projects.

Lead the process to ensure internal IT structure and systems align with ICM’s strategic business objectives.Responsible for facilitating successful project outcomes and assisting the team in keeping a variety of projects on track.

Covering administration, planning and communication responsibilities, central to the role is liaison with internal and external contacts to monitor progress, track deliverables and provide regular updates regarding the status of the project to appropriate stakeholders.

Management of Vendor Relationships and SuppliersDevelop and manage vendor relationships in order to purchase hardware, software or licensing, or to access support.

Maintain effective working relationships in order to gain an up-to-date knowledge of new technology or enhancements and remain at the forefront of new systems or hardware options.

Liaise with necessary finance personnel to secure the identified products and resources.Manage the service delivery and performance of vendors, resolving obstacles / issues as necessary.

Undertake negotiations with vendors regarding cost of products, seeking to reduce these where possible.ReportingCompile in-depth monthly reports addressing performance against targets to deliver to management.

Track and document projects against deliverables and time targets.Undertake fault reporting on an ongoing basis or as required to document the impact, cause and resolution of particular faults.

Prepare business cases and capital expenditure papers as required.Personnel ManagementMaintain a cohesive and high performing Infrastructure team by employing a range of people management strategies to lead, coach, mentor, monitor and manage performance to ensure personnel are motivated and working effectively.

Ensure administration and timely completion of performance appraisals, development objectives, and position descriptions.

Identify learning and development requirements, sourcing relevant training as necessary.Risk ManagementIdentify and document possible financial and technical risks likely to affect projects.

Identify and define risk responses to produce a contingency plan and mitigation strategies.Monitor and manage the risks during the project and execute contingency plans and mitigation strategies as required.

Subject Matter ExpertiseApply subject matter expertise to projects, tasks and infrastructure issues where practical.Provide responses to stakeholders where applicable or undertake investigation / analysis before delegating remaining work to other team members.

Drive the ongoing implementation of infrastructure best practiceInternal CommunicationLiaise with other departments in order to gather and analyse requirements to support the prioritisation of Infrastructure projects.

Inform senior management of major faults or issues with infrastructure systems.Act in an internal consultant capacity to discuss issues and provide technical advice to stakeholders and personnel.

Inform and advise relevant stakeholders of emerging infrastructure solutions applicable to the business.Continuous ImprovementMonitor changes or advancements in technology, and review and audit existing systems to recommend appropriate changes and upgrades to improve the quality of service.

Meet with managers requesting new technology to document the necessary requirements and specifications for the desired product.

Undertake in-depth research of new hardware, software and technology to determine whether specific user requests and requirements can be met.

Liaise with business units to identify opportunities to apply IT systems to support, enhance or improve internal processes.
