Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role
This role leads Contact Energy’s Reconciliation team which manages the reporting and reconciliation of energy purchases, network line charges and meter lease costs with a combined value greater than $1 billion dollars annually (and also manages other non-regulated costs such as 3rd party meter lease and revenue streams).
The Reconciliation team are responsible for ensuring processes and systems are complete and robust, ensuring accurate reporting and reconciliation of these purchases, as well as identifying, scoping and developing new opportunities, processes and tools to deliver ongoing business improvements.
This leadership position is an important and significant role in the business in terms of opportunities (& risks) given the scale of processes, financial transactions and the extent of the regulatory requirements included in its scope.
This role is wide and varied - here’s a few things you’ll get involved with :
Reconciliation & verification of energy purchases, network line charges & meter lease invoices. Ensure these processes are continually controlled, monitored & optimised.

Tā mātou e kimi nei? - What are we looking for?
We’d be really interested in talking with people who have extensive knowledge of the electricity / energy industry (including regulatory requirements, technologies, processes and pricing arrangements for electricity and gas retailing, networks and metering) and a track record of driving change initiatives.
Of course, you’ll have strong leadership stories to call upon.
