Mt Hutt - Food and Beverage Storeperson
A great role with lots of autonomy, we are seeking a Storeperson to join us at New Zealand’s Best Ski Resort. From June through to early October, this is a full-time position.
The key purpose of this role is to coordinate and distribute all of our goods for our on-mountain café and bar outlets.
Working as part of the Food and Beverage team, you will be responsible for moving stock from Methven to the ski area daily;
maintaining accurate records and ensuring we have the right products in the right place at the right time.
We are seeking someone with great communication and interpersonal skills. You’ll need to be able to think on your feet, plan-ahead and be prepared to deal with the unexpected.
Driving up and down our unsealed alpine access road is a daily requirement of this role, so a clean New Zealand Driver’s License with an F Endorsement (Forklift) are essential (or willingness to gain F endorsement if required).
About the role
To ensure safe, timely and correct storage and delivery of goods
To accurately check off all inwards goods against invoices / packing slips, and store according to stock rotation and food safety procedures
Loading and unloading of the delivery truck
To ensure all storage facilities are maintained in a tidy & hygienic state, according to our Food Control Plan, and Cleaning Schedules
All stock count procedures are followed to allow accurate tracking of inwards goods
Inwards goods are accurately checked off upon receipt, with frozen & refrigerated products given priority and immediately placed into the storage area
All discrepancies regarding inwards goods are identified and followed up on
An understanding of practicing food safety methods is also required, as is the Documentation & Implementation of the NZSki Food Control Plan, including the hygienic cleaning and maintenance of the store's area, chillers & fridges, and completing any daily documentation that is required
Driving will be required, so a New Zealand driver’s license is compulsory
An eye for detail and good administrative skills are essential to ensure accurate invoices and purchase orders are received, departmental transfers are completed and processed, and discrepancies and damaged goods are followed up.
Proven experience in working autonomously along with sound decision-making skills
The ability to engage and build a rapport quickly
The ability to be flexible- you may be required to assist in other areas of the mountain
An understanding that employment is subject to the vagaries of the weather and the hours of work cannot be guaranteed
Skills and Qualifications
Class 1 License with F endorsement
Previous experience driving in alpine conditions or experience in a similar role preferred.
